The Nakadake Crater is one of the most prominent features of Aso, an active volcanic located in Aso-Kuju National Park in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. Nakadake and the Aso mountain range is located inside the Aso Caldera, one of the largest volcanic calderas in the world.
Due to the release of toxic gases from the crater, access to the area can be restricted frequently.
