Starting today, April 1st, a new bus line is running between Fukuoka and Aso. Before, you had to take a bus or a train to Kumamoto city and then change and take a bus to Aso. The ride takes more than three hours three hours but if you’re interested in visiting Aso from Fukuoka it is in fact a time saver.
There was a special welcome at Aso station this morning for the first visitors. As you can see on the pictures some famous mascots including Akaushi-kun were there, greeting everyone who was getting out from the bus. The new visitors also received some welcome presents but unfortunately I wasn’t able to see exactly what they were. The city mayor were also here distributing these presents and greeting everyone.
There is no information in English concerning this new bus line yet (I will update this blog as soon as it is available) but for those who can read Japanese you can follow this link for more information: https://www.kyusanko.co.jp/sankobus/toshikan/aso_express/
Here is also a direct link to the pamphlet too (only in Japanese): https://www.kyusanko.co.jp/sankobus_top/sites/all/themes/SankobusTop/pdf/20190401_fukaso.pdf
