God of wealth in Aso, along Uchinomaki district

Greetings to everyone!

As I shared about Trail running on last week blog, with the start point from Uchinomaki near HanaAsobi, I noticed this power spot and here’s sharing the information to everyone who happens to come by HanaAsobi or trying out the trail run route, you may wish to drop by. And you will see these signboard along your way.

It is known as Daikokuten or Fuku-no-kami, the god of good fortune and this place is said to be a power spot temple of money luck. Many visit this temple to pray for good fortune due to rumors that upon praying, they won lottery.

Let`s find out the history of Daikokuten (福の神、大黒天)!

In 1995, 17th of January, while the local volunteers were digging a hole for the purpose of planting flowers, a figure of 30 centimeters was accidentally found underground next to stairway shown on the picture.

They had an expert to examine it and was found to be Daikokuten, the god of good fortune which was about 350-400 years ago back in Edo period and He was holding a “fortune lottery ticket” in his hand.

In 2000, Daikokuten, the god of fortune was enshrined at the said location and it has a reputation for better fortune, prosperity in business, good health and winning lottery.

There were rumors from some who reported that four prizes of 300 million yen have been won by visitors to this shrine and other various benefits such as passing an exam and being blessed with a child.

You may wish to visit this power spot for prayers when you visit Aso here in Kumamoto prefecture. And right beside the temple, there is a shop that sells lucky charm goods of this temple.
