Aboard the Seven Stars, a luxury train in Kyushu

On October 15th, the luxury cruise train “Seven Stars in Kyushu” celebrated its seventh birthday. To commemorate a special event was held from October 13th to October 16th in seven different prefectures of Kyushu island. Ayaka Harada, the head of our information center at Michi no Eki Aso, was lucky enough to enjoy a short ride aboard the Seven Stars.

This luxury train was designed by the famous industrial designer Eiji Mitooka. Since October 15th, 2013, the Seven Stars welcomes passengers from all around the world. Being able to get aboard this exceptional train is a real chance and Ayaka was really excited to finally discover how it looks in the inside and to enkoy a one-hour journey between Aso station and Bungo Taketa station.

At 9 am on October 14th, she was able to get on board the Seven Stars at Aso station. She felt like she wasn’t on a train but in a luxury hotel. Everything drew her attention, from the ambient lighting to the beautiful wooden interior.

She was also able to visit some of the rooms where the travelers spend the night during the cruise. They are all very comfortable and spacious to the point that you completely forget you’re on a train.

The deluxe suite number 0701 features a very large window as you can see on the picture below. The view is great, and you can also use this space to lower a screen and watch your favorite movie.

Ayaka really enjoyed the different atmospheres of the seven cars of the Seven Stars, especially the dining car and the car called blue moon where the light from the windows is drawing beautiful shapes on the opposing wall.
