Winter has come here in Aso. Top of Aso mountain covered by snow, beautiful!
I would like to introduce our special day tour today called “Bokuya tour”. This is our highly recommend activity. We have 3 types, “Sougen ride” mountain bike (MTB) ride, trail walk or trail run.
Bokuya is private grassland belong to local pastures association. Only with Bokuya guide could allow to enter with permission.
To prevent animal infectious diseases (foot-and mouth disease), visitors and guide need to disinfect shoes and bike with lime before enter grassland.
To maintain course guide cut grass.
Bokuya tour is sustainable adventure tour to create new job which is local Bokuya guide and a part of tour guiding fees returns to pastures association to maintain grasslands.
This activity tour started from December 2018. First tourists were honeymoon couple. They had enjoyed mountain ride. We had also many tourists from south-east Asia and Europe in 2019.
We got sport tourism awards from Ministry of sports, Ministry of culture and Ministry of tourism of Japan last month.
Without crowd in town, feel the wind in grassland and have a nice break time with coffee and sweets in active volcano Aso Mountain. From dawn, morning with sunshine, noon, and sunset, every moments are beautiful like picture.
This tour might be un forgettable experience!
Bokuya tour start from our shop Michi No Eki Aso, the guide bring you grasslands and back by car in about 5 hours.
You can rent electronic MTB by Panasonic with reservation from our HP. Now is season for this special tour because cows and horses down mountains and stay cattle house in winter.
