I’m back with my new blog. Have you ever heard about the mythological stories of some religions? Do you know that a lot of traditions in Japan arise from these mythological stories? Today, I’m going to tell you about one of the most interesting mythological stories from the Japanese Shintou religion. It is about the fire offering ritual in autumn, and they called it (hitakishinji ) in Japanese. Also, it is a vital religious tradition for agriculture. I won’t do report writing in today’s blog, but I’d really like to try to tell you all about this tradition from God’s perspective, who is one of the main characters in this story. And at the same time, I will show you the pictures of Shimo Shrine so that you can see how the traditional Japanese holy place looks like. So, let’s enjoy the historical views of Shimo Shrine and the interesting myth.

အားလုံးပဲ မင်္ဂလာပါဗျာ။ဂျပန်ရှင်းတိုးဘာသာမှာ ဒဏ္ဍာရီလာ ဇာတ်လမ်းတွေကနေ ပေါ်ပေါက်လာတဲ့ ဓလေ့အစဥ်အလာတွေ အများကြီးရှိကြပါတယ်။ဒီဓလေ့တွေအကြောင်းကို နားလည်ဖို့ဆို အရင်ဆုံး ဓလေ့ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာရတဲ့ အကြောင်းအရင်းကို သိထားမှဖြစ်မယ်ဗျ။ဒီတော့ကျွန်တော်ရဲ့ဒီနေ့Blogလေးမှာ စိုက်ပျိုးရေးအတွက် အရေးပါတဲ့ ဘာသာရေးဓလေ့တစ်ခုဖြစ်တဲ့ ဆောင်းဦးမီးပူဇော်ခြင်းဓလေ့ဖြစ်ပေါ်လာရတဲ့ ဒဏ္ဍာရီအကြောင်းကို ဒီဇာတ်လမ်းရဲ့ အဓိကပါဝင်သူဖြစ်တဲ့ နတ်ဘုရားရဲ့persepectiveကနေ ပြောပြပေးသွားမှာမို့ Shimoနတ်ကျောင်းရဲ့ သဘာဝအလှတွေ ခံစားရင်း ဖတ်လိုက်ကြရအောင်နော်။

နွေရာသီကုန်တဲ့အထိ ဒီဆီးနှင်းတွေဟာဆက်တိုက် ကျနေခဲ့တာပဲ။ဒီလိုသာ ရှေ့ဆက်သွားရင် စိုက်ပျိုးသီးနှံတွေ ဘယ်လိုဆက်ပြီး ရှင်သန်ဖြစ်ထွန်းနိုင်ပါ့မလဲ။ဒီလိုမျိုး နတ်ဘုရားဟာ တွေးရင်း စိတ်မောနေမိတယ်။ဒီလိုတွေ ဖြစ်လာအောင် ငါကိုယ်တိုင်ပဲ ဖန်တီးမိခဲ့သလား။ပြန်တွေးကြည့်မိတော့ ငါ့တာဝန်ပဲဆိုတာ သိလာရတယ်။

Actually , being a famous archer, it is more than a daily activity for me to practice shooting the rock on the northern outer rim. Kihachi, the fastest one and the one I trust, never let me down when I asked him to pick up the arrows that I shot. But why was he so wild on that day?

ဪ တကယ်ဆို နာမည်ကျော်လေးသမားဖြစ်တဲ့ငါ့အတွက် kishimadake တောင်မှာ ထိုင်ပြီး မြောက်ဘက်မီးတောင်ပြင်က ကျောက်တုံးကို ပစ်တဲ့အလုပ်ဟာ နေ့စဥ်အလုပ်ထက်ပိုတဲ့ လေ့ကျင့်မှုတစ်ခုပဲလေ။ပစ်လိုက်တဲ့မြှားတွေကို ကောက်ပေးဖို့ ခြေအမြန်ဆုံးဖြစ်တဲ့ ငါအားကိုးရတဲ့ ခိဟချိကို အမြဲခိုင်းခဲ့တာ။အဲဒီနေ့မှ သူဟာ ဘာကြောင့်ရိုင်းစိုင်းနေခဲ့ရတာလဲ။

Even after picking up 99 arrows , why did he kick out the 100th one to me? If he didn’t do that wild action to me, I wouldn’t have killed him either. After everything that has happened, he is attacking me with his great anger. He is making heavy frost and killing the crops. My people are in trouble with that frost, and I have to do something that can comfort Kihachi somehow.

မြှားပေါင်း ၉၉ ချောင်းထိတောင် ကောက်ခဲ့ပြီးမှ ဘာကြောင့် ရိုင်းစိုင်းနေခဲ့ရတာလဲ။နောက်ဆုံးကျန်တဲ့ ၁၀၀မြောက်သော မြှားတစ်ချောင်းကိုသာ သူခြေထောက်နဲ့ ပစ်မပေးခဲ့ဘူးဆိုရင် ငါလည်း သူ့ကို ကွပ်မျက်မိမှာ မဟုတ်ဘူး။အခုတော့ ငါဖြတ်လိုက်မိတဲ့ သူ့ရဲ့ခေါင်းဟာ ကောင်းကင်ယံအထိ မြှောက်တက်သွားပြီး ပြန်ကျလာတဲ့အခါမှာတော့ အရှိန်ပြင်းပြင်းနဲ့ ဆီးနှင်းတွေကိုပါ သယ်လာခဲ့ပြီ။သူလည်း ငါ့ကို အငြိုးတေးကြီးကြီး တိုက်ခိုက်နေပုံပဲ။သူ့ဒေါသတွေ ချုပ်ငြိမ်းဖို့ တစ်ခုခုတော့ လုပ်မှဖြစ်မယ်။

To appease Kihachi’s spirit, the God made Shimo Shrine (Frost Shrine in Japanese). Then, God wanted his people to offer fire so that Kihachi’s head would be warm. People in Aso began to perform a fire offering ritual and pray for protection from heavy frost at that time. Every year, they must continue fire offering for 59 days, from August 19 to October 16. They must also select a suitable 8 to 10-year-old girl to make a fire offering. This is how the Hitakishinji fire offering ritual came to be so important in Japanese Shintou religion.

ဒီလိုကနေ နတ်ဘုရားဟာ ဆီးနှင်းဗိမ္မာန်တစ်ခု ဆောက်ပေးပြီး ဆောင်းဦးရောက်တိုင်းမှာ ခိဟာချိရဲ့ဦးခေါင်းကို နွေးစေဖို့ ၅၉ရက်ဆက်တိုက် မီးအပူပေးစေခဲ့တယ်။ဒီလိုအပူပေးဖို့ကိုလည်း ၈နှစ်ကနေ၁၀နှစ်အတွင်းရှိတဲ့ သင့်တော်တဲ့ မိန်းကလေးငယ်တစ်ယောက်ကို နှစ်စဥ်ရွေးစေခဲ့တယ်။ဒီလိုကနေပဲ ဆောင်းဦးရောက်တိုင်းမှာ မီးအပူပေးစေပြီး ဆီးနှင်းရန်ကကာကွယ်ဖို့ ဆုတောင်းပွဲတွေကို မပြတ်မကွက်ပြုလုပ်လာကြရင်း ဒီဓလေ့ဟာ ဖြစ်တည်လာပါတော့တယ်။
