Welcome Back To Michi-no-Eki Aso
It’s me, Min Min again.
It’s been a year and a half since I started part-time at Michi-no-Eki Aso. I usually write my blogs about Aso’s tourism spots, but this time, I wanted to express my gratitude to Michi-no-Eki Aso and Aso.
Through my part-time work at Michi-no-Eki Aso, I’ve been able to accumulate various experiences. In particular, giving information and recommending the beauty of Aso to both visitors from overseas and Japan at the information desk feels like the most valuable opportunity of my student days. While trying to help the visitors at the tourist information desk, I became aware of both the attractions and challenges of Aso. The more I learned about Aso, the more I was drawn to its charm. And my desire to contribute to the improvement of Aso strengthened.
Recently, I participated in the Student Competition for Kyushu Tourism Business Plans organized by the Kyushu Tourism Organization and won the Excellence Award (2nd place).
In this contest, we had to think of a business plan aimed at promoting tourism across Kyushu and to present it. Our proposed plan was born from the experiences I had during my part-time work at Michi-no-Eki Aso and the practices at my current school (Idea IT College Aso). In our proposal idea, we focused on vegan and vegetarian food which is often asked by oversea visitors to Michi-no-Eki Aso.
Moreover, in the presentation, we could use data such as Michi-no-Eki Aso’s monthly visitor numbers. Thanks to this data, we received favorable comments from the judges for the clear understanding of the current situation. This success is a very precious opportunity that has expanded my possibilities, and I will cherish it as a significant moment in my life in my twenties.
