Hello everyone, I’m Ringo🍎. It’s an honor to have this chance to attend this Intern project with my partner Luna🌙 this summer vacation.
Today is our second day of Internship. Mr. Oliver took us to the famous tourist spots of Aso. It took around 30 minutes to drive from Aso JR station to the Aso Mountains. Along the way, you can see different views, driving through the countryside and forests🌲, and arriving at the destination you can see wide grassland views.
Along the way, we stopped to look at the Akaushi cattle that we might be eating one day (sorry, cows! >w<).
On the way to Kusasenri, Aso grassland, we stop at one of the famous tourist spots, it’s called Komezuka and it looks like giant matcha pudding. It’s super adorable😋.
After stopping a few times on the way to take pictures of the of stunning landscape, we finally arrived at the point for today, Kusasenri. The first sight when we saw the grassland, we were surprised by the breathtaking view, and said, ”WOW~~~ It’s amazing!” It looks like a masterpiece🖼️. And you can see Mt Nakadake’s smoking crater can also be seen from Kusasenri🌋.
Next, we made a quick visit to the Aso Volcano Museum, which is located next to Kusasenri. The museum is full of information about Mount Aso, and how to conserve the grasslands which is the habitat of the rich variety of species.
Finally, we walked to the edge of the pond to touch the water. Because we were visiting just after the Japanese rainy season, the pond was full of water and very clear (but it is not recommended to drink).
The sun was shining brightly, but it was not too hot, and there was a gentle breeze blowing and the sparkling water surface was really beautiful🥰 . If time had allowed and the sun a little less strong , I would have loved to sit there for an afternoon. Also, everyone, please remember to wear sunscreen! Make sure to apply it generously, or you might end up with a sunburn like me!
That’s all about our excursion today, and I can’t wait to start next excursion🤩.
