Japanese people’s religious views(*_*;

Hi, I’m Kazu(#^.^#)

Please let me explain in a simple way how Japanese people base their way of life on coexistence and harmony with great nature.

As Japanese people have been surrounded by rich nature and received blessings from nature, they have worshipped a lot of things in nature. It is a faith with awe towards something beyond man’s power. You can see the image of the god of the wind or the god of thunder at the entrance of temples. Also mountains like Mt.Aso have been the objects of worship.

Another characteristic of Japanese people’s religious views is coexistence of plural religions in Japan. Shinto,the indigenous religion in Japan,was tolerant for new religions. Therefore,people accepted the coexistence of Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples without question. Japanese people go to Shinto shrines for occasions related to life, such as a newborn baby’s blessings or weddings, and to Buddhist temples on occasions related to life after death, such as funerals and memorial services.

Aso Shrine, which is home to one of Japan’s three great tower gates, is presided over by the Aso clan, who, like the Imperial family, have a long and ancient history.↓

At the foundation of Japanese peoples’ religious veiw, exists Japanese people’s gratitude for everyone, including their ancestors, who hands down life and culture to the next generation.

Aso is about to enter its high season, a refreshing and delightful time of year. Please do visit Aso!

MAGA!!!――Make Aso Great Again!!!
