Aso Ichinokawa’s herons

Hello from Michi No Eki Aso.

Here in Aso it is 11 degrees today. It’s getting warmer day by day.

I hope you have a nice weekend.

When I come to my office, I can see white birds sitting on trees. I like to watch them in the morning, this is a peaceful atmosphere.

They look relaxed with cozy tree bed on clear blue- green waters.

Ichinokawa river in Nagakusa at Aso city. Just 300 meters from Ichinokawa JR station and 10 minutes by car from Michi No Eki Aso.

White waterfowl birds with long neck are living there.

Heron is a general term for birds belonging to the family Heronidae (Ardeidae) of the order Pelecaniformes, and is a member of the waterfowl.

Gray heron is bigger than white and 85-100 cm height. White heron is 60 cm height.

Purple flowers on trees is wisteria. In Japan we called Fuji(藤). Beautiful wild flower bloom on Mount Aso now.

This is Sakura near Ubu shrine (産神社).

This is Shibazakura like vivid pink carpet!

“Shiba”(芝)means grass and “Zakura” is the same as Sakura(cherry blossom).

Caltha palustris (リュウキンカ) are small tiny yellow flowers.

Please come to Aso Kumamoto and enjoy spring flowers!

It’s our pleasure to help your trip more comfortable.

Have a nice Saturday!

Thea
